Growing “Catastrophic”

The situation of people fleeing Syria continues to worsen. In one area alone—the Jazirah region, the nexus of northwestern Iraq, northeastern Syria and southeastern Turkey (the smallest section)—the population has increased by a half-million. “Most have flooded the area from Homs, Damascus and Aleppo and Deir- Ez-Zor.
