Allen Jr. rehearses the credentials (degrees from Harvard and the University of London) of the bishop, adding, “Kukah's credentials don't automatically make him right, but they do guarantee he'll be taken seriously.” On the way, Mr. Allen offers insights about the new head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, as well as comments about a fired archbishop.
