After Hearing

Through the Easter Season Catholics (and other Christians) hear from the Acts of the Apostles. It supplies the first readings at masses. The Acts of the Apostles is a portrait of the early church. It is Luke’s second volume to his gospel, his portrait of Jesus and his ministry. Jesuit Peter Edmonds helps people appreciate the “background and character [of Acts] as we attempt to grasp the significance of Easter and deepen the peace, hope and joy which the season offers.” Those who have been hearing it read for over five weeks may find Fr. Edmond’s ThinkingFaith post a particular help.
