Winning Back

Reuter's reporter, Tom Heneghan, noted in a headline to his story today that "Pope Benedict wins over German Muslims in first meeting since Regensburg speech."
That speech contained a quotation that angered Muslims, and the pope did not intend that. It was different with his meeting with Muslim leaders this week, reported Mr. Heneghan.
[Muslims] praised the pope for confirming through the meeting that Islam was now a part of German society and pointing towards new and expanded cooperation between Catholics and Muslims. But they said their loyalty to the [German] constitution, a main point in his speech, was never in question.
Read the entire post to learn how the pope expressed his thoughts about the constitution and for more context from Mr. Heneghan.
